FAQ

How does PartyPlate work?

Three steps: you pick a caterer from the directory; you send them your occasion, date, and headcount — we check it against their minimums, lead time, and availability first; then you book and take the credit. No phone tag, no mystery pricing.

What does PartyPlate cost me?

Browsing and sending booking requests is free. When you book, you pay securely through PartyPlate — never cash to the caterer. We keep the lights on with a small service fee added at booking — always shown up front, never a surprise.

Is there a minimum headcount?

Each caterer sets their own — usually from 6 guests for platters and grazing boards, higher for full buffets. When you pick a caterer you'll see their minimum up front, and your headcount is checked against it before your request goes out.

When does PartyPlate launch in Halifax?

January 2027 — and we're bringing caterers on board now so the directory is ready on day one. Send a booking request for your event and we'll tell you honestly whether we can match it.

What areas do you serve?

The Halifax Regional Municipality — Halifax, Dartmouth, Bedford, and everywhere in between. Caterers from outside HRM may join later as we expand.
